pastoral care & Wellbeing
The children at the Junior School learn so much more in their time with us than simply what they are taught in their lessons; they learn to be curious, adventurous and self-reliant, to work successfully as individuals and as part of a team, and to develop skills for today which will also prepare them for the world tomorrow.

Throughout their time in the Junior School, our pupils are at the heart of the three-way partnership with parents and staff. Developing their voice is therefore essential to their progress. Their form and subject teachers help them to express their views, in settings such as the School Council, class debates and presentations, encouraging them to find the confidence to speak up and to speak out.
Our dedicated pastoral team accompanies the pupils along each step of their Junior School journey and works tirelessly to support them through life’s challenges as well as those wonderful moments of joy and celebration. Happy children make for happy and successful learners, so our mission is to nurture them within a safe environment, to make them feel valued and proud of who they are. By encouraging reflection, we develop confident, articulate individuals who know their own strengths and are also aware of their weaknesses.
