Permanent, full time
Annual Salary: £24,969 to £27,253
Closing Date: 29 April 2026

We wish to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Groundsperson to join our Estates and Facilities team.

This is an exciting time to be joining King Edward’s School and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the School and its environment.

King Edward’s School’s sports grounds and facilities are mainly based in Bathampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head of Gardens & Grounds in the efficient maintenance of the grounds and playing surfaces, which involves the management of 17 acres of sports pitches and associated buildings, ensuring that all works undertaken are carried out to an exceptionally high standard within the agreed timeframes.

This varied and rewarding role will require energy, flexibility, enthusiasm for the wide-ranging tasks and the ability to work independently as well as being part of the team. It is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Groundsperson who has a passion for the outdoors and is keen to actively contribute to the upkeep of a busy Estate.  It would suit a person who has a professional, friendly and helpful manner, is a team player and has a ‘can do’ attitude, with a knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety.  The successful candidate must have basic IT skills and hold a current clean driving licence.  A current D1 licence would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.

The closing date for this vacancy is 9am on Wednesday 29 April 2026 and completed application forms need to be sent to our HR Department via their email address recruitment@kesbath.com. Interviews will be held for suitably qualified and experienced candidates after 20 April 2026, but consideration will be given to applications received up to the 29 April 2026.
