Head of Grounds and Gardens | Vacancies | King Edward's School, Bath

King Edward’s School’s sports grounds and facilities are mainly based in Bathampton, and gardens at North Road, Bath and the successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient maintenance of the grounds, playing surfaces and gardens, which involves the management of 17 acres of sports pitches, 2 acres of gardens and associated buildings. Additionally, the postholder will be responsible for the effective line management of the other members of the Grounds and Gardens Teams, ensuring that all works undertaken are carried out to an exceptionally high standard within the agreed timeframes.

This varied and rewarding role will require energy, flexibility, enthusiasm for the wide-ranging tasks and the ability to work independently with line management responsibilities.  It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Groundsperson who has a passion for the outdoors and is keen to actively manage and contribute to the upkeep of a busy Estate.  It would suit a person who has a professional, friendly and helpful manner, is a team player and has a ‘can do’ attitude, with a knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety and previous line management experience.  The successful candidate must have basic IT skills and hold a current clean driving licence.  A current D1 licence would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
