King Edward's Art & Photography department is proud to welcome Jo Taylor.

Jo is a ceramics artist based at Griffin Studios in Wiltshire, with gallery representation by Vessel London. She holds an MA in Ceramics with distinction, a BA in Ceramics, and a PGCE from Bath Spa University, and has built a diverse practice spanning making, teaching and writing. Career highlights include a 2019 ITV commission interpreting their logo for the ITV Creates ident, authorship of Handbuilt Ceramics (Crowood Press, 2021), and a Ceramic Review Masterclass feature. In 2025, Jo was awarded UK’s largest ceramics prize for her Bridgerton-inspired vessels.

Her work has been widely exhibited, including at COLLECT 2024, TATE Liverpool, Dublin Castle and the Holburne Museum, where she previously held a solo show, and is held in public collections such as Pallant House and Bath Spa University.

Alongside her studio practice, she teaches and mentors internationally, delivering courses and lectures since 2005. Inspired by architectural ornament and Rococo design, her contemporary sculptural vessels combine techniques such as hand-building, extrusion and wheel work, and are fired unglazed to foreground texture, materiality and the expressive qualities of clay.
