KES Rated 'very good' value for money by the telegraph
King Edward’s School, Bath has been rated ‘Very Good’, the highest possible rating, by The Telegraph using its Value for Money Tool that assesses fees, alongside academic performance and other indicators. KES is the only school in Bath to earn this ranking, and one of only two in the wider Bath-Bristol area.
As the top performing co-educational independent school in the region for A Level and GCSE results combined, we are pleased that our academic excellence has been acknowledged. In 2024, 61.5% of A Level grades were A/A* (30% were A*), and 84.3% of GCSEs were graded 9–7 (with 66.8% grade 9-8).
However, in achieving the ‘Very Good’ ranking, we also recognise that academic success is just one part of the picture when families are choosing a school. Parents rightly consider a range of factors, from ethos and pastoral care to co-curricular opportunities and facilities, when deciding what’s best for their child.
That’s where The Telegraph’s Value for Money Tool offers helpful insight. By comparing school fees with academic outcomes, plus other factors including facilities, it gives families a broader view of what each school offers.
At KES, we are committed to providing a well-rounded education that supports every child’s growth, intellectually, socially and emotionally. Our extensive co-curricular programme, strong pastoral support, and inclusive community ensure that pupils thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
We are pleased that The Telegraph has recognised the value of what we offer. For families beginning their journey into independent education, tools like this can be a useful starting point, but we believe the true measure of a school lies in its ability to inspire, challenge and care for every pupil.
