national success for kes physicists
Congratulations to Wendy, Hafsa and Annabel, whose outstanding entries in the Institute of Physics’ Quantum on the Clock competition have received national recognition.
The competition challenges pupils to explain a concept in quantum science through a three-minute video, and both KES entries impressed the judges. Wendy was awarded Highly Commended Runner-Up for her creative exploration of quantum tunnelling and the 2025 Nobel Prize, while Hafsa and Annabel received the award for Most Engaging Video for their fascinating explanation of quantum entanglement and Einstein’s famous “spooky action at a distance”.
To have two award-winning entries in a national competition is a significant achievement, reflecting our pupils’ intellectual curiosity.
