Mr Luke Benedict Joins KES as Head of Sixth Form
We are delighted to welcome Mr Luke Benedict to KES as our new Head of Sixth Form.
“I am thrilled to join the KES community and have been struck by the warmth, maturity and buzzing endeavour of its Sixth Form students. I am so looking forward to the year ahead.”
Mr Luke Benedict
After receiving a first-class degree in English and Philosophy at the University of Bristol, Mr Benedict spent six years on Fleet Street as a sports writer, columnist and editor, covering Olympics, World Cups and Lions tours. In that time, he wrote a book with Sir Clive Woodward on dynamic leadership, illuminating the overlaps between elite sport and big business in building thriving cultures and successful teams.
His first teaching post was at Trinity School, Croydon, where he was Head of Years 10 and 11 and led the 1st XV rugby team to their first national final. Most recently he has been Head of Sixth Form at the Royal High School and the Chair of Heads of Sixth across the GDST national network.
He also has a diploma in jazz and a passion for music, playing the saxophone, drums, piano and guitar – when he’s not buried in the London Review of Books, struggling with a cryptic crossword, or chasing his three-year-old son in the park!
